Freerolls? fun or a waste of time?
Def. not a waste of time if you are playing in a worth while freeroll and you have enough understanding what it takes to get deep to earn a profit. A little luck and avoiding donk-mines helps too.
i agree with you jayyy27..def need some luck,.. but skill is def needed more..
As long as you enjoy poker, not a waste of time.
kind of a horrible question. my opinion is no. I've turned 0 dollars into 3k in a few days of freeroll winnings but I've wasted a lot of time also trying to do the same thing again. so idk I say yes and no.. depends what your goal is while doing it. if your goal is to have fun like you state ok then it's not a waste of time it's accomplishing what you wanted. but if you're trying to get rich quick by just playing freerolls every day you're gonna end up wasting a lot of time.
I will say that i really do enjoy freerolls that are private, like the ones here or from the other forums i am a member of, because they are generally much smaller so i invest much less time & the play seems better. I would say if it was one of those huge open freerolls at the poker sites then no.
They are fun when Carbon doesn't F you.
I'm a grinder of freerolls and Micro Stakes,,, Time during the day I have plenty of. I make a profit every month, not much, but when you're on Social Security every penny counts. So my bottom answer is "YES" for me. It's worth it.
a little bit of both depending upon the situation. if your intent is to "get rich quick", well your making a mistake playing freerolls then. Playing with that mentality is just gonna result in losing.
Freerolls are well worth playing once you get past all the donks. Defnitely need luck and skill.
They can fun, but honestly, if it's NLH or PLO, expect lots of all in players and bad poker for a good while.
I think if you are not good enough to win a free roll, then you should not be playing for cash
It can take months for even a skilled player to cash in a freeroll. The can be good for your game if you can develop an almost zenlike disciplined approach to playing them. If you aren't careful they can turn you into a complete nit or a jamming LAGtard.
They can be fun, but a common mistake Ive seen is ppl not taking them seriously. Some just jump in and gamble it up and play badly because in their mind "its just a freeroll." In those cases it is a waste of time. But, with the right approach, they can be fun and lucrative. Anytime you risk nothing to gain something it can only be a waste of time if you dont play your "A" game.
I disagree strongly! Freerolls are luckfest even if you are playing a solid game. To go thru 5k players to win a measly 18 bucks isnt going to happen for the majority. My best finish at merge freeroll is 2nd and 4th and them are far apart inbetween them finishes/ Now if your talking about here thats a different story but then again it aint LOL When i first started here there were only( high) 30's to 40's in the games, now its 80's and 90's and while there are ALOT more donks there are some decent players that have been added also
as with anything practice makes you better
Freerolls are a lot of fun and not a waste
sometimes it can be a waste of time lol , especially when u play for 5 hours then loose with AA vs 63 just before the money lol
i belive its funny , coz u can play witj friends to ,,, an u can earn money to ,,,,
yes. funny stuff giggle hihihoo dats a fact dig?
Well, I do play a lot of the big Freerolls on Carbon... hmmmm.... I can't decide lately how I feel about those... I do like the experience of seeing a lot of hand play variations but I do wonder if I will pick up bad habits from playing in them so much. Private Forumn Freerolls have a bit better range of players and it seems helpful to play the same group over and over.
I think if you're having fun then they are not a waste of time. Especially the smaller ones like we have here. Now the ones that get over 1k entrants, those might be a waste of time.
Waste of time especially the ones with monster fields it just makes it impossible to win.
