this thread for all who want to give out suggestions on improving mtt and cash play, i have a new acct at a new site which i want to take it seriously so i can get backers for large mtts and cash play, so my stats on this site will be extremely important..to be honest when i first started with carbon and po i didnt care about stats, i just wanted to play....please dont spam this thread about petty bs who is better or not..ty
i just want to say who am i to give u advice,i see the money you won on just freerolls here and i should say,man do u have any advice for me to play on mtts?or even cash games?
position, patience, aggression.
and bank roll management.
a main thing that helped me is raising my pocket pairs, instead of just set mining
and the continuation bet works most of the time, so it is profitable.
stealing blinds as well. any two cards steal blinds when the blinds are worth something
I think you got the skill needed to make deep runs in MTT. I dont play cash games anymore. However im will to stake in the 1-5 range for you if my br allows. Theres nothing i know you dont know already good luck bro.
also, steal blinds in good position.
play micro stake games honest and straight forward. you will get called down more in these games and suffer a suckout.
JUst wait and build your BR though this site or DONs, till you can play at least an $11 game, even $11 games have their share of
low stake donks that love to call box, but more than $11. stealing blinds, aggression, and pre-flop raises are very important for reads
Bottom line is the more you play the more you learn. Just like at anything you want to get good at it is practice practice and more practice

I have no advice for cash play, cause I suck at it.... Starting hands is where it all starts for me and then position... I'm sure you know all this already but you wanted to hear from other peeps.
in cash games.. you can take my advice if you want.. but in all honesty you played 1.2k hands at .02/.04 fixed holdem and came out break even.. thats a small sample and thats fine
why you would decide then to play .20/.50, .50/1dollar fixed holdem over 50k hands combined against tougher competition is beyond me.. if you want to improve earn your way though each rank until your a consistant winner.
My advice - especially for cash games - if you feel yourself go on tilt, stop immediately. Don't throw good money after bad.
This is a pretty big topic and I would honestly have to take a little while to sit here and put together a valuable post, which I am more than happy to do. And quite honestly, if you are serious about it you wont need backers for anything because you will have the roll to do it all on your own.

tx for some of the responses..i have decided to focus mtt game play first and build a roll then move to cash table on my new acct..the cash play downswings are so bad sometimes that it could kill my little bankroll, so at this time no cash play on my new site

Honestly I couldnt disagree more with that thought. It sounds like you are already trying to limit losses, scared money does not play well. Plus MTT has by far a larger variance than ring play any day of the week.Quote:

Yeah sorry, I thought you were starting at around $20-$25, not quite as low as you are. If thats your roll to start, and you have no access to PO tournaments to try and add to it I would say you will probably find the best 'odds' in the low buy-in SNG's but the multi table ones. The 18 and 27 SNG's for the $1.10 buy-in are pretty soft really. Maybe on the semi rare occasion if you can find a decent 2/4 limit table(one where players seeing the flop is less than 40%) maybe put a full buy-in there($.80) and look to pick up some hands.
Bottom line is this really, avoid all the goofy shit now that allows ticket buy-ins like the double ups, fast fifty, donkey quicky, and so on. Most of the people buying in on those seem to be nothing but a hazard to mental health and it just doesnt justify the time and money spent.
Figure out what your max draw down is for playing ring games and stick to it, and more importantly what is your exit price at profit? If you sit with an $.80 buy in and say, 'ok, I am going to leave when I make it to $1.25' then you really want to make sure you arent going to risk $.60 for your draw down.
I would also say once you hit $12-$15, find a solid 2/4 NL table and do a $2.40 buy-in based on the same principle as above. Gotta remember the beauty of ring play is, you have all day because those blinds arent going to get any bigger.
Don't play when tired or tilted and you will always do better! Easier said than done!
haha yeah, I havent even gotten into stuff like that but totally agree 99%. The 1% is, dont tilt plain and simple. You are in a world of odds, you WILL stack off fish, you WILL get called down on things that should really never be called on, its a fact of life.
