Silva/Weidman and the conspiracy

I watched the fight last night, including all of Silva's antics that he hasn't broken out since the Damien Maia fight and thought what everyone else did, that his showboating cost him the title. Then afterwards, he said he's got 10 fights left but doesn't want a rematch or to fight for a title again because he's tired of defending it...is it possible he threw this fight? If anything, what he did last night takes away from Weidman's win and by not having a rematch...I dunno. Something just seems off about the whole thing. Thoughts?

The weirdest part was Shaking his hand and bowing then getting all in his face. He's just strange. I do think though that Silva is the superior fighter and beat himself though.

I want to fight Anderson Silva. After a while if you really study an opponent , you know their moves in situations. Like Tyson for example most could not make it out of the first round with him. Then fighters trained to dodge and move to let him gas himself out and get him out of his elements and into further rounds and he got his but whooped.

Silva is becoming the next Rampage, fighters are figuring out their styles and beating the brakes off them.

Way off, Anderson Silva will still beat anyone at 185 or 205, he just got caught with a clean shot while messing around because he has done it all and doesn't really care anymore.

It's the natural cycle of most athletes. Drive and competitiveness naturally diminishes. That isn't to say he'll never fight again, but I imagine somewhere in his mind he'd rather be living a life never worrying about weight, what to eat, training days, and the general grind of flying around the world attending press junkets answering the same question every time. He's 38, which in fight years is OLD, and there's a lot of wear and tear and loss of general functionality that most of us probably don't see.

That doesn't diminish Weidman's accomplishment and when this all gets sorted, if Anderson gets his way (which seems like retirement), I look forward to Weidman v. Belfort.

Silva doesn't want a rematch, he wants Jones now and I doubt Jones is interested in the fight now.

There is no conspiracy. Anderson went out there dancing and toying with Weidman. If Anderson would have went out with the mentality of knocking Chris out it would have happened. Chris is no where near Andersons level of talent. He got cocky and everything added up to him!

I just can not believe Silva loss. My husband and I both had him winning.

There will be a rematch soon, and it will be a good time to put alot of money on Silva because he will probably be an underdog.

If a fight with Jones could be made to happen, that would be amazing...

He got his butt whooped cause he was out of shape going into the Buster Douglas fight and his first loss and ultimate downward spiral of his career. Plus his head was all f'd up with his out of the ring drama he had going on with Robin Givens at the time(which he brought on himself). I also believe his trainer was dead as well. He just wasn't prepared at all for that fight. He was a HUGE favorite and the much better fighter of the two. Just not then and there.

P.S> It would be a shame if you ever fought Silva ......resulting in the first ever R.I.P. Mod thread on PO. :P

That'd be cool. I don't doubt you have skills, obviously don't know you. Just saying if you had world class mma Champion caliber skills, I would assume you'd be where Silva and company are. I've got friends that do MMA too, as does everyone and there Mother now a days. But I'm saying it'd be like me saying I wanna play 1 on 1 vs Lebron James just cause I played JC ball imo. I do think it's cool that you do MMA. Keep it up and I wish you luck in all your fights.

I do have a heavy bag that me and my son use, I want him to be able to fend for himself and look after his younger sister when I am old and can't.

Its part of his style he tries to get people coming at him because he is excellent counter puncher.

I pretty sure there is a rematch already set for mid December.
