This was hilarious. The Killing was sooo good the first season, and was absolute garbage the second, really disappointing.

I think both deaths go together. Dale's character represented the wish to hold onto our humanity as long as possible, but to survive in this situation requires a take no prisoners outlook. That is why trust is so important within the group and where Shane's death comes in.
