How can you tell if a reality show is real or fake?

Its all fake, unless you are watching someones home movies.

lol it's pretty much set up to an extent. people aren't really real unless they goad into something lol

Yup, so true. All these show might have been real at first but now its just a soap opera.

heres an example: If you watch Amish Mafia, at the start it says that some events were reenacted, but throughout the entire show its the same supposedly real Amish people. And that is on discovery channel, which is supposed to be educational

i believe that 9/10 are fake, and the 1 remaining is only 50% fake

we already had something that depicted reality on television or film.... they are called documentaries. so i am very suspicious of why they came up with "reality tv"

when something would really happen in real life. i hate south beach tow. its reality but its so fucking fake and rig.

its all scrpted and stage. Amazing race is the best of them all.

They are all staged/scripted to a certain degree. Watch for the ones that have the disclaimer that they are reenactments. Those are mostly completely fake.

Totally agree. Amazing Race is the one "reality" show I continue to watch season after season.

all depends on the show! sorta hard to fake survivor!! but i think most of the housewives shows are fake!!!

I think the hunger and exhaustion are real, but there is definitely very careful editing to make people look good or bad

99% of all reality shows are scripted..so they're not really reality shows in my opinion.

I'd say google the show. But the truth is, mostly reality shows have some type of script. Things are set up to get a reaction.

Even the cooking shows are all fake and set up.
