Best horror movie?

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the best and first of the true genre as it is today: Texas Chainsaw Massacre #1. Nothing else even comes close. Also, from the 60's and 70's the most horrific horror films were 10,000 Maniacs and Blood Feast. I'll bet nobody here has seen them but if you can find them and rent them you would see that they were the precursors of Saw, F-day 13th, Halloween and others. Another GREAT horror film was Basket Case. Try them out folks, they will blow you away, especially when you consider their content for the time, compared to what was main stream acceptable.

Saw is disturbing ~ not so much scary ~ shinning was scary as fuck !

For me is the Paranormal Activity too. All of them were good

Any horror movie that shows a lot of nudity is good for me.

The strangers is a pretty creepy scary movie...especially the music they play in the movie

The best horror show of all time is GhostBusters. That big Marshmellow guy at the end is terrorizing......lol

I agree totally. I think in the horror film genre there is "horrifying" and "scary" and sometimes both. Blood and gore can always be both, but to be truly scary, like The Shinning or Psycho (the original) doesn't always need tons of blood and gore.
