Spam Manager Apply Here (Step 1)

Step 1, apply to be a spam manager.

Step 2, the PokerOwned users will vote on who they think wouldn't abuse this and would make a good manager.


So, I can set it up where I can allow other users to "manage spam"

That is, I can make it so they can give infractions to people, JUST warnings etc.

They can also delete threads \ posts


Now, before you say ME ME ME ME.. I am still debating the need for this. I can see some abuse going on here as well, so I need to be very careful who I allow and if I allow this.

I think I would be good for this. I used to be a mod and since I don't see that happening again I would like to do something else to help the forum. :)

I apply just for the threads Im dealing... Hate searching through and trying to find something and seeing 10+ posts dealing nothing with the thread, esp when Im dealing with other users money ect.

i think rocket woild be good at that too and fair , and not just delete and ban posts for no reasson tho,,, :) since he said he wa nts to do it ..

I would want people who read the forums. You don't have to go through every single thread.. But.. If I had enough GOOD people, it would get cleaned up pretty quick

Its just annoying trying to search for a post dealing with a username ect for someone I need to send a percentage too and checking in the morning and see 10+ posts saying 5 words dealing with nothing that involves it.

I understand your worried about it and ppl using powers ect but I think honestly it would create more of a discussion on the forums rather than people saying crap just for there 5 points in main threads since there clicking on the recent ones.

This is why I think I would be good for this. Almost every time someone makes a thread or reply's in one I click on it just to see what it is about.

I think you would be good for this... If your going to dedicate someone or ppl to go through it needs to be someone that ACTUALLY is on everyday, participates in the forums and knows whats going on ect.

I dont care who does it honestly it just needs to be done.

If not I would like the power to at least go through the threads Im dealing with money/other users to go get rid of all the nonsense on a daily basis that gets posted.

Ill even go through threads during the weekends and week nights (if Im not busy) and delete random crap. I think it would be a huge improvement for the forum and discussion.

98% of the problem is users get on and the first thing they do is go from top to bottom recent threads and post random crap saying nothing that deals with what is going on everyday. It floods main threads and makes threads die or become unreadable because of all the crap.

Of course you cant stop it all and of course giving out powers like this might cause other issues but ME PERSONALLY would like to have something and Im sure other users dealing with my threads would like it as well. Its a pain checking every morning/afternoon ect and seeing countless posts not dealing with topic.

*** If this cant be done maybe just give me a close thread option so I can simply close a thread down once everything has been handled so two days from now users cant post in something that I sold action for tonight when everything has already been handled**

There comes a point when talking about something like the London Olympics is cool ... then weeks after its done any new post in there would be pointless.

I could be just the asshole you are looking for if that means I can delete the dumb '1st' posts and so on. Basically I wouldnt mind helping out and getting rid of all the useless posts that contribute absolutely nothing to a given topic.

I would like to manage just my thread to be honest The Official Sports betting thread. I don't really read all the other that much, but someone has to stop the spamming it really ruins the forums. What people will post for a measly 5 points is ridiculous lol.

I have been a moderator once. It was for a site that held leagues for Madden08 on the PC. Awesome forums, I would still be there but had to leave the Madden leagues. Hav'nt played Madden in a year or so but do miss it. The site I was covering was getting spammed quite often, so I was deleting posts regularly. I was able to see their IP address so I could figure out who exactly was responsible for the spam and put in a temporary ban. The administrator would come in at a later time and check my work.
Really cool thing I had going on, would like to give it another whirl.
For this site, the Admin had a few people who would mod the site. Not just one. PO is huge popular site, more so than the Madden League I was part of. Think maybe a try at having a mod for different areas of the site would be helpful.
Now I did my mod activities for free. The admin did have to pay for a website upkeep but then again we were'nt playing for money.

this isnt the presidential election.. haha. Is the deciding still going on here,, or is someone doing the spam garbage yet??? cdnt tell if someone was picked yet?:))
