Thanks for the information. It's nice to see that you can start small, and work your way up simply by studying the game itself and how you play.

Good luck! But if you don't have good luck getting to $10K as quickly as you thought you might, don't worry. Maybe you have a good life in other respects. It's going to take a lot of hard work and a lot of luck. You could end up starting off well, getting your roll up to say $600, then going on a downswing that just doesn't end .....using perfect bankroll management isn't good enough here. Downswings can last much longer than a few days....much longer than a few weeks, much longer than a few months...they can last years and still be within standard variance of a winning player's variance possibilities.

Another thing that might happen is that you could start off on a downswing, never get your feet off the ground at all, be one of the greatest players around, and not even realize it because just the timing of the downswing was bad.

A 3rd possibility is that you might start off well, then go up and down for a little while, basically breaking even for a few months, but you'll want better than that...you'll think your luck has been awful, whereas in reality your luck is about average or maybe even a little better than average. Then burnout could occur and you'll need a break...you'll take a much needed break because you'll see that people on forums will tell you that after a break, things go much better....however, people who have said those things, are just experiencing good short term variance after the break. In reality, they were just plain lucky that things went better for them after they returned from the break....so...you might take the much needed break, come back with a refreshed mind and good confidence..only to find that your luck is still the same or maybe even worse than what it was before you went on the break...at that time you will be looking for answers in mysterious places, for example in the church, or maybe you believe in karma and you'll examine your life to see if you have bad karma or something...upon concluding that there's nothing wrong with your karma, you could end up throwing your hands up in the air, then loudly proclaim "I give up", then actually try to give up, but then later on give it another go, only to find that no matter what you do, you're just plain not lucky enough to make it to $10K.
