    Roi

    So lately I have been tracking my tournaments for sng. I did the math and my ROI is about 50%. I am not seeing any profit though I am losing money then gaining it back just to lose it again. I play the same $ amounts in these tournaments. From what I read around, 50% ROI is pretty good and I should be turning a profit. Anybody have any ideas why I am just spinning my wheels and not turning a profit? Its out of 13 total tournaments.

    Well by definition, if you have no profit your roi is NOT 50, roi is PROFIT/buyins, so no profit is 0 roi. To answer you real question, , 13 is no where close to enough games played to figure anything useful out, you need a lot more sngs played to get a real sense of how you are profiting. Hundreds if not Thousands of games.

    ROI = 100*total profit/total investment

    so if you played 13 dollar buyin sngs and made 13 profit, your roi would be 100*13/13, which is 100% return (you invested 13 bucks and made 13 bucks on it, 100% return)

    That might make since so Im calculating it wrong? I've had 13 tourneys at $5.50 each total investment of $71.50..I've placed for times 2 2nd places for 13 total winning minus buy in $5.50 is $7.50 x 2 is $15.00 I've placed 1st place once which is 22.50 minus $5.50 being $17.00 and one 3rd place for $9.50 minus the buy in which is $4.00. so I took my $36.00 and divided is by $71.50 x 100....50%...no?

    no, 36 would be your profit for the games you cashed in, you have to "add" the -5.50 for each loss, so you have 9 that you didn't cash in so thats - 49.50 so you have a profit of -13.50, so a neg roi. But like i said, 13 games really tells you nothing, you need a lot larger sample

    total wins divided by total buy-ins x 100 = your roi %

    or if you want an easier way, officialpokerrankings.com tracks players stats and will tell you your overall roi
    I'm gonna give that bitch a freeroll, bitches love freerolls.

    its total profit (total of cashes - total buyins) , not total wins, unless thats what you meant by total wins
