Razz makes my head hurt!
Ive been playin nl hold'em for years, but am brand new to razz. I read a lil bit on it before joining a Horse freeroll. I thought, from what I read, that basically the lowest/worst hand won. However, I ended up in a hand with one other player, and I had the lowest cards of us two, but still lost. someone please explain exactly what the best hand is in razz!

I love HORSE, but razz is frustrating. A2345 is the best razz hand. Suits and straights don't matter. Conventional wisdom is to fold "pairs and paints (ie face cards)". I typically fold everything unless my highest card is a 6. It's just too frustrating. Play tight and wait for stud.

yes i try and sit out during razz it always screws me up

I think the part you're missing is how the best/lowest hand is calculated. It doesn't start with the lowest card you hold (A), it starts with the highest card of your lowest 5 cards. Therefore 8-6-5-3-A (lose) is a worse hand then 7-6-5-3-2 (win) because the 7 is lower than the 8.

I LOVE Razz - you have to play the players and not your hand

Razz is all about luck. It just sucks, thats why they took it off of wsop event. They still have it in horse but basically its a luck game. Not a whole lot of skill.
