A live scenario (not mine btw)

Not sure if you Stars players remember ImDaNuts (Chris Oliver) good on line and live player and plays high buy in MTT's.

Anyway he had a weird incident happen while playing a live game. This is what he said happened

"2/4k i shove 60k utg the sb doesnt realize i shove throws in a 5k chip says i call....then realizes i shoved and puts his cards in the muck what should happen?" I am not sure if this enough info of the hand but I saw he got plenty of responses, was wondering what the PO community thought of this and how the dealer/casino should have handled it.

The ruling was this from what chris said "they made him put 4k in and his hand was mucked"

Then chris went on to say " i know it was an accident but he could easily angle me with a hand he intended on calling with"

I would say that's a loss of stack? I mean if you say call that's what it is, what if he called.....watched the flop then threw his cards in the muck before the hand was finished would they give the same ruling? well the hand didn't play out so he only owes 4 k? NOPE, In my home casino....cash game, not tourney I have seen similar things happen and they made players pay full boat and ran the cards just to see if chop happened. I say make them pay for not paying attention, No do overs and no take backs

I am surprised their isn't more input here but maybe it is cut and dry and doesn't need any discussion.

If he verbally made the call then by most rules and standards he is committed to the full raise! That is a load of shit if he got away with a slap on his wrist!!! If I was in that situation, there is no way I would let that tourney director get away with that crap! I would have been freaking pissed!!!!

Redacted: Just made a phone call on this also and depending on the location of the event it could be possibly considered a "Fraudulent Act" on the part of the Casino possibly prosecuted in a court!

Verbal is binding, he should have had to call the whole 60k. If I was a pro and that happened, I don't think that casino would be getting my business anymore.

Yeah it might have been a mistake, but that is not the point. It could be used as a tactic, that is enough reason to make a rule against it. sounds like a weak floor to me.
