    It could still be a while before legislation is passed. After the government shutdown and maybe another one on the way, poker is probably not at the top of the list.

    Interesting, I bet Illinois would actually gain more than the projected though, seeing as casinos are banned in Chicago

    I would venture to say that those projections are going to turn out to be overly optimistic.

    Propose a business plan for your state...then send it to your local city counselor, then to your the Senate, who then can pass it on to the House...then we can go from there. All states will eventually have legal gambling...the gov't is just trying to figure out how they can get their little rake backs.

    I live in the very southern tip of IL and within 30 miles of a casino. There were probably over 200 big buses in a day 10 years ago. Now I would estimate about 25 a day. I am one of those who stay home and gamble online mostly. I think IL will pass online gambling within the next few years.
