    Madrid Protests

Hi guys, here are my shots from Thursday night, the last night that the Puerta del Sol was closed by the Government. Last night the Indignants retook the Plaza. Enjoy the photos!

I could google this I guess ... but I might as well ask someone who was there. What is this about?

The Indignants took over the main Plaza in Madrid (Puerta del Sol) on May 15. These are mostly young disenfranchised kids suffering from the economic crisis. Unemployment in Spain for people under the age of 25 is around 50%. So they set up a camp in the main square in the city center, thousands of them, and pledged not to leave until the government met with them to do something about it. The government tried ignoring them, but eventually evicted them last week. These photos of are of the night before the Indignants retook the plaza. They currently control the square once again, but are leaving each morning so cleaning crews can come in. These kids have spunk, so I go out and shoot photos and videos of their protests. Here are some more interesting links of stuff I didn't take that might help you understand more....
