refer a friend

Anyone know how often points update for referring a friend? Is it after each survey that 5% of the points the person that you referred does, you immediately get the points? Do points that they get from the lottery ticket count at all? How long do you get the 5% of points? As long as they are a member? A friend of mine signed up with the site, hasnt done any surveys yet, but did get like 30 points for scratching the lottery ticket. I looked under refer a friend, i see his name, but it says that he hasnt got any points yet even though he did get 30 for scratching the ticket. Do I get the 5% of points after he reaches a certain amount or directly after each survey he does?

Anyone have any idea?
