I don't think your pre-flop raise was a good move unless you had notes on the villain that said they would always try and steal the blinds. The reason is because you have the advantage pre-flop, but you are going to have to act first every other turn and that gives the villain the advantage after the flop. I may have even still folded the hand and not even called. After that initial mistake, I would have played the hand the same way.

He was active in the last 2 hands, and one of the showdowns, which had similar preflop bet size he was holding 7-8s, I put him on something like that, or maybe A-Rags... since he had played a few of these the same way...

Yes you played it horrible KJ is a horrible hand.
You should always try to read your opponent the possiblites to have a trips at the flop and figure out if he try to bluff or not.
Can't you see that phoenix7724 is very confident with his hand?

He wasted 4K chips in the hand before chasing a flush to the river while calling the last bet without even making his flush.... I had him on A-10 or K-lower kicker...

My initial goal was a fold pre flop on my raise.
once in the hand, wether i would have check called, or bet bet, the end result was going to be the same...

given ur reads of villain opening light, i really like ur 3bet with KJo in the BB instead of flatting. bet ~816 on the flop and on the turn i don't like that u bet 720->3075 on the turn because it's extreeeeemely tiny and ur goal is to stack this guy. with the pot @ 3k and u with 3.7k behind u have a decision to either shove or bet smallish around 33% of ur stack to induce a shove vs ur opp (if he's aggressive). if he just calls then shove the river.
