If you live in this area like I do, Players Casino is a way better choice to play Tournaments. Its located in Ventura about 45 min from Santa Barbara. Chumash has NO clue when it comes to making a tournament. The structure is WAAAAYYY to fast and they pay out to many places. I used to play the $150 buy in thanksgiving tournament but its just no value for your buy in. Literally 4 hours into the tournament the chip leader only has 40 big blinds. It becomes a shove fest and your better off taking your $80 and betting on their sad excuse for a "roulette" wheel which is cards instead of a ball spinning in a wheel. But all in all, spend your money at Players Casino where you actually can play real poker and the blinds don't go 25/50 50/100 100/200 200/400 400/800, its garbage man!

i go to school in slo which is about an hour north of chumash. on weekends and holidays the tournaments get to 50-80 people.. most daily tournaments are 15-25 people. they have a couple of big tournmanets twice a year that are worth it, one is the central coast championship with first place going to the world series main event. the cash tables are usally 1-3 tables of 1-2 no limit, sometimes a 2-5 table forms later in the day and big o is tuesday friday. overall this is the best action i have found on the central coast but it is not that great compared to some of the rooms i have played in the bay
