Full Tilt Poker Joins Forces with Fertitta Interactive

Full Tilt Poker Joins Forces with Fertitta Interactive to Create Online Poker Site
    0 Comentarios Comentarios
Full TiltOnline poker giant, Full Tilt Poker, recently came to an agreement with Fertitta Interactive, which is co-owned by Vegas' Station Casinos founders, to create an online poker site pending the passage of federal legislation regulating online poker in the United States.

This partnership, which is expected to be officially announced Thursday afternoon, would push for the federal legislation of internet poker. Not to be confused with Assembly Bill 258, currently being debated in the Nevada Legislature, that would authorize the state to legalize online poker.

Fertitta's co-owner Tom Breitling had this to say about the regulation: "We believe that a federal law for online poker is the way to go. We do believe that a federal online poker bill would be good for Nevada. Nevada is a leader in gaming regulation, and we need the thousands of high-paying high tech jobs and the millions in tax revenues associated with online poker."

FullTiltPoker.com, which launched in 2004 and soon after became the second largest online poker room in the world, is registered in Alderney and is regulated by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission. This commission recently announced an information sharing agreement with the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

The Fertitta brothers are also part-owners of the hugely-popular Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which has the potential to become a part of the cross-marketing plans of the proposed online poker site created by the two companies.

No details have been released on this alliance yet, "Our arrangement with FullTilt is confidential but it is contingent on the passage of federal legislation regulating Internet poker," Breitling said.

This partnership comes only a week after Pokerstars announced their own deal with Wynn Resorts, in the hopes that the U.S. would regulate online poker.

I think laws like this have been a long time coming. Its good to see however that the big poker sites are making some fairly aggressive moves to legalize online poker in the United States or I guess depositing to online poker sites at least.
