This seems like a really bad fold! I guess it pays to take another look at your hand

The sad thing is I know that there was a bet and two calls on the flop. The guy who bet was to my right, I smooth call and the other two come along to the turn and I would have won the pot on the river, because the board ran below the Jack so I had the nuts. Don't know If I would have been called on the river though. The guy who bet on the flop took in down on the river with a bet no call.

Well like in Life you make mistakes. You have to learn from them. Now I look at my hand before I muck when I'm invested in a pot. I would like to hope that this big mistake at the time has help improve my game. Thanks for the advice and I'm happy to see the replies.

always good to double check and keep the mental note of what you have when you play. also for those that do decided to fold and then later sees the hand hit the flop, there really isnt much you can do except that you folded and the only thing left to do is move on. you cant predict the future...dont beat yourself up on folding the AJ, you will eventually get more chances in poker. just remember to tell yourself to double check next time.. we are only human and everyone makes a mistake every now and then .

it is tough to decide what is going on when you fold a winner, but it depneds on how you would have won.. or lose the hand haha.. but for me if i am deep in a tourney i hate it more than in the earely stages
